This is a long established urban GMS training
practice consisting of two female and one male
partners with a list of 5,400 patients. We also have
2 salaried GPs working in the practice. The main
surgery is in a lovely spacious old terraced house,
founded in the early part of the 1900's, but we are
hoping to move into a new LIFT premises in 2009.
There is a purpose built branch surgery on the
nearby Brierton estate. The practice also looks
after 2 long-stay continuing care hospital wards. We
have the usual attached staff and access to all
services. The registrar has a consulting room at
both surgeries and there is a library/seminar room
at the main surgery with internet access. We are
fully computerised with the Vision 3 system and are
paperlite.
Dr McGowan has been the trainer in the practice
since 2001. Dr Eaton and Dr Roberts are ex-Cleveland
GP Registrars. The practice is also involved in
teaching medical students from Newcastle and
Teesside. Interests within the practice include
diabetes, palliative care and computing.
All the partners are committed to quality within
general practice but within a reasonable workload
and in a friendly caring atmosphere..This
