The Course organisers are working
with the hospital clinical
supervisors in implementing the New
GP Specialty curriculum in the
Specialty posts attached to Tees
Valley VTS. The supervision and
curriculum development within
hospital GP Training posts will be
developing rapidly over the next 2
years with the introduction of "Run
through training"'.

Workplace based assessment
There are a number of new
assessments that Supervisors now
have to do on GP StRs. These include
Mini-CEX, DOPs, CBD, MSF, Clinical
Supervisors report and are all
recorded on the trainee e-portfolio.
Although the names of the
assessments are the same as in the
Foundation programme, the
methodology of some, particularly
CBD, is different.
The Scheme is happy to help you to
get to grips with the assessments if
you require help. The information on
how to do the assessments is on the
RCGP website.

Mid Point Appraisal
Your trainee is asked to complete a
feedback form about the post when
they are half way through. You will
be sent a copy of this feedback and
asked to reflect upon your response
to it.
Visiting System
The Scheme aims to meet with all
Consultant Trainers at least
annually. This is planned as a
developmental visit. Each Trust has
a particular Course Organiser who
visits. Dr Tony Boggis is
responsible for the South Tees Acute
Trust and Dr David Anderson visits
Darlington Memorial Hospital,
University Hospital of North Tees
and University Hospital of
Hartlepool.
Integrated Training Post Consultants
should liaise with the GP Trainer
for that trainee at the beginning
and middle of the post. This is in
addition to the scheme visits. |
